Progress for the Sequined Beauty

I forgot how awesome it is to sleep like a normal person!  I literally have not slept more than 1-2 hours in the past 6 months which left me a little on the Dr. Hyde side. So, now that I can function mentally and I’m back to being my hyperactive self, the sewing shall go on.

I decided yesterday that I have to start from the beginning, which means I have to finish my first post, A Sequined Beauty.  Now, after murdering one of my serger needles I decided that Betsy (my industrial sewing machine) will be more suited for this type of fabric.  So after figuring out how to sew sequined fabric without destroying my needles (A.k.a calling the sewing master, my mom) I started working on the shell. I decided that 3/4 sleeves would be super elegant with the type of waistline I’ve created with the elastic so the sleeveless idea has been scratched.   I’m still trying to make a decision about the belt which means I will most likely make it anyway.  Anywho, check out the progress and the ever shrinking to-do list below:

The Sequined Beauty shell. (Check out that blue carpet….jealous?)

To-do List:

  • Sleeves
  • Lining
  • Hem
  • Yay or nay decision: Satin ribbon like belt

Next time you see this dress it will be all finished and looking quite fancy.
