Sewing Throwback: The Grace Cape

My niece Grace loves all things girly so I decided to make this super cool cape for her last year.  Now I have four nieces and two nephews but I had no experience in making kids clothes so I bought this neat book by the title of, Oliver + S: Little Things to Sew.  I really recommend this book  for people that would love to make clothes for their children or family members but don’t know how to get started.

I went down to Joann’s and found this great peacock fabric and a low-pile PINK faux fur. And the answer is yeah, I thought that this was perfect and weird all at the same time.  What are the odds that pink faux fur would be at Joann’s in the first place? Well it was, so I grabbed it quick before it turned out to be a dream inside of a dream and I got to work.

The finished product turned out to be the perfect item for an Easter egg hunt.
