Hey Guys! I’m kind of excited about this post because I will be talking about one of the ways I deal with my love/hate relationship with glasses, buying awesome frames! I don’t have the worst eyesight in the world, but let’s just say that if I go without wearing my glasses, I will most likely run into something. I’ve tried contacts, but I hate the way they feel so glasses will be my best friend until I miraculously wake up with 20/20 vision. Now, being the spirited person that I am, I refuse to wear boring things on pretty much all occasions so when I was introduced to yet another mail order prescription glasses website, named Firmoo, I got super excited. After making sure they were legit, I ordered two pairs of glasses and let’s just say… I think I’m in love. Don’t get me wrong, there were some definite negatives but there were a lot of great things that spoke to me and that’s why I wanted to write the review. So let’s get to it.
I’ve been working on quite a lot lately and I can’t wait to share these new items with you. For those that follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen that I’m working on two awesome fur coat samples, finishing my “muslin” sample for my tuxedo “sweatpant” trousers and working on the accompanying jacket. However, today I really wanted to share my new product photos for the Leather Gored Skirt (seen here, here, here and here).
I did a retake on my product photos because I really wanted everything to be cohesive on the website. I’m using different lighting and even a different camera so it was just something that I had to add to my never ending to-do list. I decided to have some fun with it by adding one of my favorite purchases, my Steve Madden thigh-high boots, a Ramones t-shirt and some Closet Chemistry jewelry. I wanted to really capture how I would style my pieces with other brands as well as really tap into the attitude of my brand. Let’s check them out!
Hey guys! I’m so excited to be revealing another boutique item, the Oh My Tulle Skirt. I absolutely love this thing! Mostly because you can throw it on with your favorite t-shirt/blazer combination and look instantly amazing. Now, I’ve been getting so many inquiries about tulle skirts that I just had to add this as a future item for the boutique. I seriously can’t wait to finalize the details of my first Pop-up Shop Event so I can have a full racks of tulle, faux fur, leather and silk goodness. I decided to switch it up a little by giving you guys a sneak peek of the images that will be used for the boutique’s website. Also, I really wanted to play it simple for this reveal due to the sheer awesomeness that is the skirt. So, I went sans make-up in this one woman photoshoot (yep my kitchen doubles as my photography studio) with a small amount of jewelry and a milkmaid braid.
Happy 2015 everyone!
I wanted to quickly tell you guys what’s ahead for my life, my blog and my business. As you all know, 2014 was such a stressful year for me but, as I said before, being a natural optimist and having my wonderful family around really helped me out in terms of keeping my head in the game. This led me to come up with so many ideas that I really want to get going for this year so let’s take a look at my 2015 goals.
For my life plans, I will finally be going back to my life before the hip injury and tumor (still benign!! WOOHOO!!). That means running, working out and hopefully joining some club sport or fencing. Awesomely enough, this part of my life will undoubtedly transfer over to the blog with a playlist and possibly a workout to accompany the post. I also plan on spending more quality time with my family, friends, my boyfriend and my physics GRE study materials. PhD I’m coming for you!
For the blog, I will be showing a lot more outfit posts as well as behind the scene looks at the new pieces that will be added to the boutique. I will be setting up a Pinterest account, having a new series called Restaurant Rehash, inviting my wonderful boyfriend in to make some cooking magic and I will be showing you guys my apartment makeover one project at a time. Sounds great! right? Well I hope so because my last blog plan is even more exciting! Drumroll please….. I will be introducing my first sewing e-course that is guaranteed to make you catch the sewing bug.
Last but definitely not least, for Closet Chemistry. I will really be working towards collaborations with local artists in Chicago, building my inventory, making the website more user/SEO friendly and having my first Pop-up Shop in Chicago! So excited!! I really wanted to give people the chance to see and touch the clothes as well as give me the chance to meet the Closet Chemistry customer so this idea was a no brainer. As soon as the details are set in stone I will be making the grand announcement! Okay, just writing this is making me grin hysterically so I’m backing away from the computer…right…about….now.
I hope you all enjoyed this post with my goals and plans for 2015. I would love to hear yours?
P.S. Although this will be my last post until February because I’m getting some wonderful posts ready for you guys, I will be pretty active on Instagram so check me out there...Maybe a Super Bowl Recipe will be posted 😉 .
